Due to lack of activity here..(it's quite boring to be here.. not much activity you can do especially at this time where the uni does not start yet) so, I remember to update my blog... he he he..
So yeah, I arrived in Australia on the 10 July morning, and I was picked up by a taxi driver that brought me to Gippsland. It took about 2 and 1/2 hours to reach Gippsland, and during the journey I was sort of falling asleep but awake within seconds.
When I arrived at the uni, I was welcomed by the student helper that sent me to the residential office to get my key and then showed my room. My luggage were being take care by the people, lucky me. because it was almost 40kg in total.
After that, I had to join the orientation session. I missed the first session but I was able to enrolled, although it is quite troublesome for me because the system is not updated with my information, so I had to do all the things manually. I had to run from one faculty to another, one department to another; it was not that difficult because I was accompanied by someone but it is tiring especially with the unsupported weather. Even at lunch, I had to fill-up some forms for my enrollment, it was a free lunch for this one.
After lunch we had to do the student Id card session, I got a new one printed, and after that, we had a campus tour, which for me is not that useful because it was too many people going at the same time, and the helpers were not professional. By the way, I was the only one Indonesian in this orientation batch and the others are C****** with a total of 21 students for degree course, and the others 38 for english course. I managed to set-up a bank account but couldn't get a new phone sim-card.
We waited for the bus at 5pm to go to Traralgon to do some shopping and look around the place. Traralgon is about 25 minutes away from Churchill and has K-mart and Coles. I felt it was wasting a lot of time, because the C****** really brought a lot of stuff and we had to wait until 10pm to get the bus because it broke down on its way to come and pick us. I ended up this day with a bit of emotion because I really felt alone and no one came and talk to me; the C****** spoke with their own language, and the student helpers are just hanging around with their gang. I just arrived in the morning and I have been out for the whole day, it's just too much for me, especially the weather is not supporting.
The next day, Saturday, I woke up at noon. I went out for a lunch and checking out the area surrounding. I came back to rest at home and I went out again for a dinner and look for some stuff at the supermarket nearby.
On Sunday, I woke up at 8am, because I want to catch early bus to the city. I was able to catch a bus to Morwell and from Morwell I took a train to Melbourne. I arrived at the city around 11am. I met my highschool friend, and we had a lunch at a Greek restaurant. Then we walked around the city until about 6.30pm then I went back into Churchill. It took me about 2hours to reach Morwell, and from Morwell I took a cab to my place, because there's no more bus service at night.
Today, Monday, I had another orientation program. It's as another orientation, boring! At night we had a barbecue, and I just don't get the mood because the C****** do not know how to queue and cramping each other to get the food. I just had one slice of bread, a piece of hotdog and few slices of onion and that's it for my dinner. Oh yeah, I skipped my lunch because I was asked to met someone from the faculty to do my enrollment. It took me an hour to do that and when it is finished I had to attend another orientation session.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better as well as the following day..
Cannot wait until Thursday when I will be heading off to Melbourne until Sunday..
So, ciaoooooo.....
